Good morning. I wanted to take a minute to talk about attendance and what is an excused absence/tardy and what is unexcused. State Law requires all students to attend school daily. According to the Education Code, a student may be excused from school for various personal reasons, including:
- Legitimate illness
- Medical, dental, or optometric appointment
- Court appearance
- Bereavement
- Other justifiable personal reasons approved by the principal or school administrator
An unexcused absence is for any reason not listed above including oversleeping, vacation, family member’s appointment, not calling in or sending a message to Brandy Rocha regarding the absence etc
