Meet the Librarian

Hello from the Library!

My name is Beth Lawrence and I have been the Webster librarian for 6 years.  I have 5 kids and 5 sisters.  I went to BYU and graduated from Fresno State.  I have had MANY interesting jobs, including a health and wellness lecturer, a personal trainer, and a diving coach. 

I love to make things, to learn, and to help people.

The world is FULL of so many cool and interesting things!  I love making exciting lessons for the kids when they come into library time with their class. A few of the things we have learned about are lighthouses, the Olympics, and the Pony Express!  We have had plays, dressed up, and learned about paper airplanes, classical music, shadow books, choosing gratitude, flags, rocks, traditions around the world, AND dance parties at lunch. Our library is filled with awesome facts, thrilling stories, and friends.

 Emilie Buchwald said “Children are made readers on the laps of their parents”. Please take an active role in teaching your child to read.  Make reading and learning a vital and magical part of your family's every day routine.  I tell the kids that reading is like exercise and eating healthy food.. you need to do it everyday, but you can try different things until you find what works for you.
